This week's meeting includes a presentation by Rhianne Janovich, Public Sector Account Manager with Waste Management Northwest. Waste Management serves many communities in the United States and Canada picking up garbage, recycling and yard waste. What happens to all of that? Come and find out at our meeting.

As we have mentioned, our Scholarship Portal is now open to accept applications from 2026 Lake Stevens High School graduating seniors. If you know of a senior who plans to pursue education after high school at a college, university of technical/vocational institution, please invite them to submit an application. On Friday, January 16th, our program was Dr. Mary Templeton, Superintendent of the Lake Stevens School District, Jayme Taylor and Chris Martin discussing the I Love Lake Stevens Schools Campaign and the upcoming levies on the February 10th ballot. Join the Rotary Club and the Greater Lake Stevens Chamber of Commerce in support of these special levies.
Dr. Templeton started the conversation with the I Love Lake Stevens Schools theme before launching into the School District Levy campaign. You can help by displaying the I LOVE LAKE STEVENS SCHOOLS sign in your businesses or home as well as sharing your support on social media using #ILoveLakeStevensSchools and tag the district so we can amplify. Dr. T shared some unique examples of what makes Lake Stevens Schools so special from graduation rates, to special athletic statewide victories to great theatre programs in drama, music and so much more creating a wonderful school experience which makes our school district so unique and recognized as one of best school district in Snohomish County.
Join us on their kick-off rally on Monday, January 26th from 3-5 pm at three locations: Lundeen Park with Dr. T; Trestle Station (20th St. SE) and Highway 9 & Soper Hill Road.
Two of our Club members had ribbon cutting ceremonies hosted by the Greater Lake Stevens Chamber of Commerce on Friday morning. Lake Stevens Charitable Thrift ceremony at 10 am owned and operated by Jeff and Rickelle Pegrum and Global Credit Union managed by CaSandra Sargent followed at 11 am. A nice crowd representing the community with Mayor Brett Gailey and Councilwoman Tosha Edwards joined members from the Chamber, Rotary and community welcoming these two businesses to Lake Stevens.
Two new members receive their Rotary Membership packets and badges on Friday. Olga Steshuk and Ashley Dreager were welcomed into our Club. Olga commented on becoming a member of our Club and how important it was to give back to the community. Ashley was welcomed into the Club during the ribbon cutting ceremony by Amy, our President Brian and Rickelle.
Interact is a service club for youth ages 14-18. The name is a combination of the words international and action. We join Clubs in over 120 countries around the world. The global youth network is dedicated to community and international service. Every Interact Club project, great or small, has a lasting impact on society worldwide.

Our regular Rotary Club Meetings are at the Lake Stevens School District Educational Service Center lower level Community Room located at 12309 22nd St NE. We start at 7:30 am.
