The Bow Food Pantry

Oct. 23, 2026
The Bow Food Pantry (BFP) initiative was established in October 2025 with the goal to provide regular food distribution events in an underserved rural area of Skagit county on Sundays, a day when no other food banks are open. Since then, BFP has hosted monthly events, welcoming over 600 shoppers and serving 2,400 people. In May 2026, BFP partnered with Skagit Community Foundation (SCF) to establish a designated fund to provide a reliable pathway for charitable donations to support the initiative. This partnership with SCF also extends to Community Action of Skagit County’s Food Distribution Center, allowing the BFP Fund to purchase bulk food at reduced rates.

BFP also frequently accesses high-quality produce, meat, and other items from local farms. BFP intentionally offers both staple and culturally relevant foods that reflect the needs and preferences of the community members being served. In addition to food, BFP offers household and personal care necessities for families experiencing food insecurity to help support health, dignity, and stability at home.

Lee Harmon

Miss Vickie

Nov. 06, 2026

For 42 years ,Dr. Harman has been a Rotarian and member of the Rotary Club of Arlington, Washington; District 5050.  He has been a polio champion from the earliest days of what is now called PolioPlus and has raised over $500,000 since 2019, when Miss Vicky, a 1931 Model A Ford traveled from Peking (China) to Paris, France to prove “difficult things are doable, just like ridding the world of polio.”

Dr. Harman is a retired eye surgeon specializing in cataract and lasik surgery.  He and his wife of 51 years, Judith, are Major Donors at the Arch Klumph level and have two adult children and 3 grandchildren.

He is here today to educate, motivate and incentivize us regarding “all things, polio,” While celebrating the many successes of Rotary’s signature program, he will admonish us to hold steady and “stay the course” until the polio virus is finally conquered.

A strong Rotarian Dr. Harman has been known to say:  “I owe more to Rotary than I can ever repay.”
