Last week our speakers were Mary and Mike McLaughlin from the Trees That Feed Foundation. Mary, the founder, said that their mission is planting fruit-bearing trees to feed people, create jobs, and benefit the environment. Trees That Feed Foundation believes that tree crops are a large part of the answer to world food concerns. Tree crops are nutritious, yet require less input of labor, agro chemicals, fertilizers and space than field crops. Past President Ryan decided that his President's Choice donation was to this very worthy foundation and they thanked our club for that donation.

  

     

We were also entertained by the duo Melanie and Brett, who asked questions regarding medieval times.  They have set the bar for Fun and Frolics, members!!

 

 

 

Thank you to all of the members who attended the June 13 dedication of the fishing pier and the trees that our club provided donations toward, and the bench in honor of Dennis Gilbert in Green Lake Park.  We had great club representation and many of Dennis' family members attended who appreciated the tribute to him.  Dennis was a very active member of our club, a loyal friend to many, and he is missed.

       

Jing is planning a dinner for Dylan on Tuesday, July 9 at the Empire Buffet, 405 Townline Rd., Mundelein, IL 60060 at 6 pm.

The last thing on Dylan's wish list is attending either a Sox or Cubs game.  If you can take him, he is available from today to June 15, after that from July 1 - 11 and July 15-17.  He will be going back home on July 18.
