President Jim called Owen, who was still fiddling with the books at the last minute, to give a financial report. He reported that there was available as of March 31, $141,000.00 and that this sum did not include Dragon Boats or Trip of the Month. From this subtract $40,000.00 for the centennial project and the commitments to Community, Int'l and Vocational Service, which equalled $20,000.00 and there's $81,000.00. The Board projects a balance of $110,000.00 for this time next year.
President elect Mike presented the case for the YMCA, as LeeAnne had presented it at the Fireside. They plan an internal renovation and upgrading of a tired building. The total project is 4.5 million and about half is already raised. The Board recommends a contribution of $50,000.00. There were some questions and some discussion.
President Jim presented the Board's recommendation on Wendat, which had submitted a request earlier in the year, for $5,000.00 which would pay off one third of their outstanding commitment on the renovated building.
Jim also brought forward the Board's recommendation to support the Wye Marsh in buying its tractor for $20,000.00.
These three were put to the membership for a vote.
All three passed. The ballots were destroyed.
