Service Above Self Awards to two deserving MSS students.
Paul Sloan introduced Mike Anderson and Jeff Attwood, teachers at MSS.
Mike presented Kendall Flower to the Club. Kendall excells at the Arts, maintaining an above 90 average while taking on all the responsibility that goes with editing the yearbook, competing in dressage competitions and entering art shows.
She thanked the Club for the Honour, commenting that it was a great way to finish off her year and thanked all the students and teacher counsellors that had helped with the yearbook - a team effort.
Jeff said that Matt Hayes had excelled at athletics while at MSS, winning the Senior's Athletic Award, helping the basketball team to an excellent record and winning at the discus the first time out. He coached elementary school sports teams and was in receipt of several scholarship offers.
Matt also thought that, with graduation just a few hours away, this award was especially appreciatted and reported that he would be going to Waterloo, with an intention of entering journalism.
