GUEST SPEAKER - District Governor Bryn Styles

District Governor Bryn Styles addressed the Midland Rotary Club to outline Rotary's goals for the year, and where Rotary is headed in its second century. After Presenting President Jim Feheley with a centennial pin, District Governore Bryn spoke about Rotary's centennial, including our bandshell among the 31,000 projects underway around the globe. We need to foster fellowship, and to that end we are twinning with another club in the near future. In it's centennial year, Rotary is focusing on three emphasis: Literacy, Water Conservation and Preservation, and Health issues. As Rotarians, it's important to recognize the link between humanitarian work and world peace - the opposite of contentious rhetoric and war. By focusing on our goals, Rotary International works towards world peace through good water, literacy and health, while fighting dispare, anger and fear. Remember, the World Health Organization rejected the Polio Plus campaign in 1977, but persistence is paying off now! Every Rotarian Every Year is the theme supporting the Rotary Foundation.... asking each member to make a contribution at least annually. Membership is another area we need to focus on, to kepp Rotary strong through the next 100 years. Times may change, but not the definition of integrity.
