Alison introduced Mike St. Amant who will be going to Denmark in August.
Mike thanked the Club for the chance and said he hoped to take advantage of such a wonderful opportunity. He expects to accomplish a good deal - he want to learn Danish (he already speaks French and Spanish); he wants to learn more about himself and to grow; he's anticipating the experience of living with a different family and enjoying different foods and cultures; as an active participant in sports including cross country and volleyball, he expects he'll be trying soccer.
His sister and brother have travelled a bit and his family has hosted other students and their experiences have encouraged him. He's enjoyed meeting the other outbound students. They all shared the uncertainty of not knowing where they were going and, though he had a wish list that Denmark did not appear on, he's excited now.
President Mike wished him well on behalf of the Club and suggested he keep us posted on his adventures.
