Community Reach

Community Reach TLC programs transportation program represented by Rick Ignace and Rolande Maracle, one of the users of the van purchased with our financial support. The van was parked outside and those who remained had a group photo taken with it. The program provides transportation for those who have limited income, providing 37000 rides since it’s inception, and 2200 so far this year. Since June 1, this van alone has had more than 100 rides.
 
Some of the volunteer drivers put in up to 85 hours in two weeks, sometimes getting up at 4:00 AM to make appointments in Toronto. Rolande described how this service has been a lifeline for her medical appointments as there is no bus service to Victoria Harbour where she resides. She can get in and out of this wheelchair-accessible van without throwing her hip out.
