Jamie Hunter presented background and plans for expansion of the Huronia Museum.

Jamie started with a history of the museum that dated back to 1947 when the Huronia House Museum was opened in what was previously the Playfair house. The museum's current location opened on July 1, 1967.

The museum is in need of additional space. Currently there are 700,000 artifacts stored in the back room. Expansion possibilities include a theatre to seat 150+ that could be utilized by several groups, including the Huronia Players. Cost of a theatre is in the neighbourhood of $1.2 million. Another option is a boat storage facility that would cost around $280K.

More details to follow when a report is received from the architect.
