Bob Campbell's Classification

Jamie Tripp introduced Bob. He said Bob was an example to the Club in terms of professionalism in his business life and dedication to the community.
Bob's parents were from Vancouver but his father's work took him to very different corners of the world. Early in their married life his mother had been stricken with polio and lived in a wheelchair as a result. He, his parents and his sister and three brothers lived in Mexico, Hudson, Quebec, England and Peterborough. They found the weather and the help made life for his mother easier in Mexico and his parents finally returned there, where his mother still lives.
Being young in Mexico and having Mexicans to help while living elsewhere gave Bob a great start on Spanish and living and going to school in Quebec gave him French.
Bob took business and accounting in college and while there, as part of an assignment, he and a couple of friends started a security business which they kept going through their last year and sold in 1988 when it had 35 employees.
He had married Kim, from Midland, in 1986 and he really liked it here so he took a job in Barrie doing just about everything in the front office of a construction company which gave him great training for starting Georgian Team Design Builders, which now has 10 employees.
With the design build concept, he leads a team including the customers, calling on specialists as required. The strength is in the communication and the insistence that the customer is satisfied. Listening is the major tool. When he was building for Weber he was there so much and worked so closely with the owner that his kids thought that was his job. He has also worked at Baytech and Huronia Plastics and Compusolve as well as others and is currently adding 45,000 sq. ft. to CCL.
He and his family, Kim, Graham, Michelle and Samantha, enjoy the life style afforded here, boating in the summer, snowmobiling in the winter. Between his satisfaction and pleasure in his work and his family he declares himslelf truly content.
