Rod Ferguson introduced Paul Van der Wel. Paul was born in the Netherlands, is married with two daughters, has a BA in food management from McGill and an MBA from MacMaster. He speaks Dutch, English, German and French. In each of the jobs he has taken on, he left after posting major increases in sales and profitability. A McCain's sales increased from 45 million to 450 and when he left CSM Bakery Supplies to retire, sales there were over a billion.
It was agreed that Paul can have our Trip of the Month tickets next year.
He and his wife moved to Penetang Bay and are anxious to get involved in the community. Rod said he had discussed the 4 points with Paul previously, but expressed a desire to see the Club continue to grow in numbers and in experience and, he felt, Paul would bring many talents to Rotary. He presented Paul with his plaques and his pins. Paul thanked Rod and the Club and commented on how much they were enjoying the area, though they had been taken a bit aback by their first winter. Being well established, he said, he and his wife both felt it important to return something to the community.
