NOTICES
Help wanted:  Assistance sought for a lady in Jamieson Street (mowing and weeding). Previously we have provided assistance and additional help is now required.  Marie, Judy, Andrea and Mel have volunteered their time.

Cocktail Auction to raise funds 6-11pm 28th October 2017 (flyers are on the table tonight)

Fashion Parade this Sunday 22nd October.  Sales going well, Robbie Blackmore champion in ticket sales at this time.  A good afternoon anticipated with many prizes to be given away.

Christmas in a Shoe Box:  Judy informed the meeting, next week is the last chance to bring items along.  Judy talked about the value of new exercise books and children are commonly having to write in pencil and rub out to reuse. All donatons are appreciated.  Please remember that the items need to fit into a shoe-box and be self-sustaining (no battery operated items). Please bring along anything you can think of to contribute.

5-Cent JarAnn & Judy were discussing past Foundation funding raising activities. A 5 cent jar is being reintroduced. Please bring along your 5 cent pieces to donate.

Foodshare bin is available for donations.  Vegemite & peanut butter are both very popular, along with cans of baked beans and spaghetti.

Eisteddfod film night:  ‘The Mountain Between Us’ tomorrow night 6.30-7.00

Show Gates coming up next week. A few new members were missed off the roster. Please contact Mal with your availability as the roster can be revised.  All volunteers are issued with ID badges. Individuals will be responsible to return the badges at the end of the shift along with fluorescent jackets. Rotary T/shirts are not required to be worn.

Members: Ron Rauert is currently in St John of God hospital. Eric Williams celebrated his 97th birthday.

Swindle tonight was won by Michael Boyd.

TRIVIA FUN NIGHT
Jim Lewis led us in a fun trivia night with five tables of teams participating.

Due to three teams being on a total of 31 a playoff was conducted. Aurora Avengers were the winners on the night after the additional round.

President Trevor presented winners with individual prizes and thanked everyone for coming along tonight.

Thank you to Jim for coming along to run the trivia competition.

Board Meeting followed.
SOCIAL MORNING TEA
A few members took the opportunity to join in the social activity last week at Reg's Tea House. Ian obviously left his glasses behind and had to borrow a pair! Very nice they look too. It appears they had a fun time. We look forward to more such opportunities. Thank you Robbie.

EXCHANGE STUDENT EXPLOITS
Ben and Toni have been out and about at Ballarat Wildlife Park getting up-close and personal with some Australian animals. It is great to see Ben and Toni joining in at Rotary each week. We trust they are enjoying their time in Australia.
