Terry introduced Dede from Warrnambool & District Food Share.

 

Dede expressed thanks to all who contributed to the Food bin. This will be a weekly occurrence for our club for anyone who would like to donate food. Andrea will take it out to Food Share each week.

The need for Food Share is growing.  Most foods are sourced from Supermarket especially ALDI. A big change is the increase in unsolicited donations like the food-bin we will have at our weekly Rotary meeting.

 

Thus far over 1000 people been fed so far this year with 8000 hampers going out so far. August has been very busy. This winter has been busy  helping singles & families. 2 tonnes of donated food has been received & distributed in the last month. Every bit helps.

 

It costs $100,000 each year to provide this service to our community. Our Rotary club has been giving support by helping pay their insurances. Food Share is very grateful to the club for this ongoing support.
