As chairman for the night Graeme introduced Adam Jones, an Undertaker  at Guyetts Eastern Park   

Adam came to undertaking after owning his own restaurant at Port Fairy. Adam spoke about his work, challenge’s and the respect they have when dealing with the bereaved families. His talk was extremely interesting with Rotarians asking lots of questions 

Most people have contact only with funerals parlour when some one dies.  So it’s a good opportunity to look through the funeral  parlour and have this experience.

And now we are off to Eastern Park.

 

 

 

 

 

NOTICE ABOUT NEXT WEEK'S MEETING - John Beks

 

When in 2006 the century-old St. Brigid's church at Crossley was
decommissioned , the small local community set about raising enough
money to buy the church and hall, for the purpose of creating a
cultural and community centre.

They took on quite a large debt, requiring repayments of $25,000 a
year : yes! $25,000 !! And so far, with a lot of hard work by lots of
volunteers, they are managing, by organising monthly/and or weekly
musical and entertainment events (such as "15 MINUTES OF
FAME"), dance classes, weddings, funerals and such.

We, as a Rotary Club, can assist them, by , just for once, simply
moving next week's meeting and meal from the Warrnambool
Football Club to Crossley - at no extra cost to us!

Isn't that an example of the purpose of Community Service, by having
Rural/Urban Nights?

I hope most (if not all) members will attend, together with their
invited guests.

However, for catering purposes, members and guests are asked to
declare their intention to attend, by notifying me (John Beks)
within the next TWO days. Unless you have already signed the
attendance sheet, being circulated.
