One of the true honours of being a Rotarian is to induct new members into Rotary. On Monday evening, the Rotary Club of Bridgenorth Ennismore Lakefield had the honour of inducting Mary Lou Tryan and Recy Thomas into their Rotary family. Visiting Assistant Governor Rick Storey, spoke about the power of Rotary and how Rotary connections enrich our lives. Rotary connects 1.2 million members from more than 200 countries and geographical areas to take action and create lasting change across the globe and in local communities. Their work impacts lives in many ways from helping families in need in local communities to working globally toward a polio- free world.
Mary Lou was sponsored by Rotarian Susan Davidson. She is a retired educator and brings a passion for helping youth to the club. During her career she worked with children with behavioural challenges, helping them to develop boundaries and life skills. She has been involved in community outreach working to provide meals and a safe place for those who need it most.
Recy was sponsored by Past District Governor Brian Menton. He has a passion for youth, especially the mentorship of at-risk youth. He is a member of the Habitat for Humanity Peterborough & Kawartha region youth congress. He is studying in the Bachelor of Education program at Trent University and will graduate in spring 2019.
BEL Rotary welcomes Mary Lou and Recy to the Rotary family. The club will be richer with their experiences and contributions!
