One of the highlights of the Rotary year is the visit from the District Governor.  On Monday evening, the BEL club welcomed District Governor Richard Denton to the meeting.  “This is an extraordinary year” said Denton, “we are moving back to face to face meetings, we have our first female Rotary International President and she is a Canadian.

He also talked about the Rotary International theme “Imagine Rotary”.  He challenged us to imagine a greater future: a future where children have enough to eat, clean water to drink and access to education.

DG Richard toured the many projects of the BEL Club and recognized the club for their extensive and meaningful impact on our community.  He shared his own goals and encouraged Rotarians to remember the elements of peace, to be respectful of the environment and the importance of inclusivity for all.
Rotary has been a significant part of the Peterborough and area communities and it would be hard to “Imagine” the community without Rotary!
