Lorie Windrem, music teacher at Chemong Public School accepts a check from Community Service chair Chris Tworkowski toward the purchase of music                               to support the newly formed recorder and ukulele programs.

Chris presented Loire with the cheque to help towards the purchase of materials to support the music program.  Lorie has taught instrumental music to grades 7 and 8 for the past several years.  This year the music program is expanding to include the instruction of the recorder and ukulele to students in grades 3 through 6.  “Thanks to this donation, more than 200 students in grades 3 to 6 will have the opportunity to learn to play the recorder and ukulele.  Not only does this promote appreciation of different kinds of music, but also helps students to gain an understanding of music theory.  In her thanks Lorie said “BEL Rotary really does make a difference!  Without this we could not extend the program the way we are and provide all students with this opportunity”
