BEL Rotary said a fond farewell to member Dave Tilley, his wife Andrea and their two sons Nathan and Owen.  Dave and Andrea hail from Newfoundland and have made Peterborough home for almost 20 years.  They have decided it is time to move back to “The Rock”.  They have been an integral part of the BEL Rotary family since 2004.  Their contributions are numerous.  In recognition of his incredible service, the club recognized Dave with his PHF+3.  You will be missed!
Dave has served the club in many capacities including two terms as President and his service has changed lives locally and internationally.  He was instrumental in the club’s “Adventures in Tourism” program, an opportunity for youth to learn about the tourism industry, worked with club members to provide “the gift of Christmas” to local families and was instrumental in the sponsorship and organization of the Chemong Lake Triathlon that ran for many years.  He has worked on the shoreline and maintenance of Rotary Park, lead the annual cleanup efforts, and the family was active in the annual Christmas celebration and carol sing.  Dave and Andrea were part of the team that travelled to Cambodia at personal expense to build Rotary School.  Their contributions were invaluable.  Dave will be missed for his incredible sense of humour and ability to “but things in perspective”.  He has become the “go to” IT person.
In his professional life as well as his Rotary life, Dave embodies the goals of the Rotary Foundation – a world of Peace and Understanding.  As manager of “A Place Called Home” in Lindsay, he works to better the situation of those around him.  The club was honoured to present him with a Paul Harris Fellow +3 in recognition of his many contributions and his commitment to world peace.

Dave thanked the club and talked about how he had enjoyed the journey and fellowship, especially his overseas adventure. The skills learned through Rotary have helped him grow and develop personally and as a leader in his professional life.

Dave, Andrea and family – you will be missed.
