One of Rotary’s goals is to provide opportunities for youth to participate in programs to raise their awareness of different vocations and career opportunities.  BEL Rotary sponsored two students to the Adventures in High Tech program.  Lucas Wall and Batool Kazmi spent two days with facilitators from different businesses and educational institutions who described unique and different ways they use technology in their day to day work.  Sessions included 3 – D printing in manufacturing, self driving garbage trucks and detecting and removing pathogens from waste water.   Presenters described how they had taken many twists and turns in their careers and that the amazing opportunities ahead.

Both students described how the weekend helped them get a better picture of opportunities in the high tech field and helped define their own aspirations and possible career paths.
