May 29, 2018 8:30 AM - Jun 05, 2018 9:30 AM
Again this year, Lewisville Morning Rotary will be awarding bicycles and goody bags to the students at Central ES that had perfect attendance during the 2017-2018 school year. We will need Rotary volunteers to assist school administration in the distribution of the awards. Ideally we would like to see as many of our membership as possible attend each grades awards celebration. However, recognizing that the awards ceremonies are scheduled during most member working hours, we are asking a minimum of two members be present at each ceremony. The awards will be given on a grade by grade basis according to the following schedule: Tuesday, May 29th at 8:30 AM - Kindergarten Tuesday, May 29th at 1:30 PM - 1st Grade Wednesday, May 30th at 1:30 PM - 3rd Grade Thursday, May 31st at 8:30 AM - 2nd Grade Thursday, May 31st at 1:30 PM - 4th Grade Tuesday, June 5th at 8:39 - 5th Grade |

Aug 23, 2018 7:00 PM
Connie has worked in three very different arenas during her life. While living in Europe for 21 years she owned and operated several blue jean stores named Connie’s Jeans in Luxembourg. While in Europe, she enjoyed traveling across the continent. In 1989, Connie returned to North Texas with her two children. In 1991, she began working for Boeing-Corinth. Her Boeing career as the Community Relations and Communications Manager included establishing a community relations program, acting as company spokesperson, maintaining a $1 million annual contribution budget for the State of Texas and serving on The Boeing Company philanthropic company-wide team. In this capacity, she also served on many Denton County boards and committees. She is the past president of both the Lake Cities and Denton Chambers and a graduate of both Denton and Lewisville Leadership programs. Connie’s third arena is the non-profit world. As the Executive Director of the Lewisville ISD Education Foundation, she maintains and initiates new fundraising programs, administers the LEF scholarship and grants programs, and fosters donor relations. |

An accomplished psychic and channel, she easily taps into past lives as well as any other information the universe is offering. Cindy has also been an instructor of the intuitive arts for the past six years and has been reading the tarot for over 20 years for a select clientele. Trained as an Advanced Theta® Practitioner her intuitive abilities have helped many in the areas of healing the mind, spirit and body. She is always receiving messages from her guides and those who have passed on. This has made for an interesting life journey, especially when it comes to those who have departed. It seems that part of her life mission is to help the living understand what death is really about. Of, course in Cindy’s world there is no death and what interesting stories the dead do tell! Domestic Violence Awareness
Oct 11, 2018 7:00 AM
Cassandra is the Our Community Matters Program Coordinator. The Our Community Matters Program (OCMP) is focused on providing community education and awareness information/events to the often underserved population of African-American victims and survivors of family violence, domestic violence, or dating violence and their children in the Denton County community. Each ethnicity or race has its own unique personality and inclination (or not) towards the therapeutic and healing process. As service providers, it is our job to recognize these sensitivities as well as any barriers we contribute that might hinder a successful outcome. The OCMP is designed to help discuss these sensitivities and barriers in a genuine and validating way; this program hopes to shine light onto statistics and conversations that are often not discussed. This program can’t thrive without community partnerships and stakeholders such as churches, businesses, schools, etc. Cassandra would love to tell you more about Denton County Friends of the Family and the Our Community Matters Program.
