Karen McDaniels: Rotary Bio

Karen McDaniels lives in Denton and has been a member of the Rotary Club of Denton since March 2017. She is on the club’s Board of Directors for the 2018/2019 year. Karen is also a Paul Harris Fellow and a member of the Rotary’s Environmental Sustainability Rotary Action Group (ESRAG).

Since 2010 she has been the Executive Director of XSProject Indonesia, a non-profit based in Jakarta that advocates for and provides social services and educational opportunities to Jakarta’s 500,000 trash pickers and their families.

She is member of Keep Denton Beautiful, the Institute of Scrap Recycling Industries, the Plastics Recycling Association and Future Without Poverty.

Since retiring from the corporate world in 2009, she has dedicated her life to sharing her knowledge and skills with underserved women around the world, and providing them with the tools to empower themselves, their children and their communities.
