Longtime Bellaire/Southwest Houston Rotarian, Patrick Lesley was honored with the Cliff Dochterman Award by the International Fellowship of Scouting Rotarians on November 17 at the club's luncheon meeting.  The award is named after past Rotary International President and Eagle Scout Cliff Dochterman.
The award recognizes Rotarians and Scouts who:
  1. Contribute to character education, leadership, citizenship, and personal growth of members of the scouting association through programs, training, or organization.
  2. Assisting Rotary Clubs.
  3. Exemplifying the Four Way Test.
  4. Recruiting and training volunteer scout leaders.
  5. Strengthening the relationship between Rotary and Scouting.
Nominees are held to the above standards in a way that values work accomplishments, dedication, and relationships rather than years of service. Past District Governor Nick Giannone, MD had to sign off on Patrick's form before he could be approved for the award.  In the 30 year history of the award, less than 850 individuals have received the Cliff Dochterman Award.  Patrick stated that being nominated by fellow Rotarians and Scouters and being approved by PDG Giannone was very humbling.
Please join us in congratulating Patrick on a well deserved honor for his service in Rotary and Scouts.
