The Buffalo Bayou runs through the heart of Houston and has many significant places along its banks.  Approximately 20 Rotarians and guests from the Bellaire/SW Houston Club took in the sights along the Bayou on Sunday, October 23.  We passed by historic Glenwood Cemetery where legendary Houstonians such as Howard Hughes, Roy Hoffheinz, and William Hobby are buried.  Scared of ghosts?  Do you know that the Spaghetti Warehouse is certified as haunted?  This structure is another that was on the tour.  The tour was very interesting and relaxing.  Of course, the wine may have contributed to the relaxed atmosphere.  The weather was nearly perfect as was the company.

After the boat tour, the group met at Chatter's Restaurant Cafe and Bistro for a fantastic dinner.  The cuisine was excellent, but the best part of the meal and evening was the fellowship between all who attended.  The more we bond in fellowship, the more apt we may be to serve together.  Service is why we are Rotarians, but fellowship and camaraderie are huge benefits.  Not only that, but guests were present for this event.  This gave them an opportunity to see that we not only serve our community, but we have a good time together.

The next social event is a Halloween party on Saturday, October 29 at Andy Pollard's house.  Plan on being there to bond with fellow Rotarians and consider bringing a guest.
