ABOUT CHIEF DEACON TITTEL

Chief Tittel began his career with the Bellaire Fire Department in June of 2000 as a Firefighter Paramedic and has steadily risen through the ranks of Lieutenant and Shift Commander.  He also served with the Highlands Volunteer Fire Department for twenty years retiring in 2013 as Assistant Fire Chief.  Tittel holds an Associate of Applied Science in Fire Protection Technology from San Jacinto College and a Bachelor of Applied Arts and Science in Emergency Management Administration (Cum Laude) from West Texas A&M. He is certified as a Fire Executive from Texas Fire Chiefs Academy and a Fire Service Chief Executive Officer in the Texas A&M University System (Engineering Extension Service). Tittel’s additional certifications include Master Firefighter, Fire Inspector, Fire Investigator, Fire Instructor III, Driver Operator-Pumper and Incident Safety Officer. He was sworn in as the Bellaire Fire Chief in 2018 and has also served as Interim City Manager for the City of Bellaire in 2022.
