Presenter, Damien Stein is the principle of Energy & Resources Technical Services, a solar panel recycling start up dedicated to keeping end-of-life PV panels out of landfill.
Solar panels are our fastest-growing e-waste. Less than 10% are recycled. Most are landfilled, stockpiled, exported, scrapped and transported interstate.
There are 4M+ Rooftop Systems in Australia now; 685K Tonnes of projected waste volume by 2030; and 1.1M Tonnes of projected waste volume by 2035.

Presenter, John Gooderham is a freshwater ecologist who specializes in waterbugs.
John is a pioneer of The National Waterbug Blitz.
Waterbugs provide insight into the longer-term effects of water quality on the health of a freshwater ecosystem.
The diversity of waterbugs at particular points along a waterway can tell us much about that waterway's long-term exposure to impacts such as pollution and sediment.

This exhibition, Science on the Bay highlights examples of scientific discoveries and research in Moreton Bay. Under the one roof, participants can experience several interactive displays that showcase research around the Bay’s marine turtles, shorebirds, invertebrates, shellfish reefs, and wetland habitats.
Explore hidden worlds with microscopes, discover water quality science, and see how researchers and citizen scientists collect and use data to care for Moreton Bay, its wildlife and habitats.
This exhibition makes science accessible and shows its importance to looking after the environment and the future of Moreton Bay.
