Due to reporting requirements, Rotary Sunrise members will cast votes for the 2016-17 leadership in two weeks, on November 4th. This is your opportunity to step up and serve the club as an officer or director as outlined in the chart above.
President-Elect Dawn has put forward a slate of Rotarians to serve in leadership positions, and every Rotarian also has an opportunity to nominate members. If there are more candidates than positions, there will be elections; otherwise, membership will be asked to approve the PE’s slate.
Please don’t be shy about asking questions, asking others if they are interested in serving, or offering your own services to help lead the club during PE Dawn’s year in office. PP Tony is coordinating the election and can answer any questions.
The NCVO Telethon takes place this weekend, giving everyone in Cayman an opportunity to support an organization that runs six different programs: preschool, nursery, the John Gray college scholarship grant, the Caring Cousins lunch program, the foster home and a bargain shop.
NCVO CEO, Janice Wilson told Cayman 27, "A lot of families can’t afford to send their child to preschool or nursery, but they need to work as well and that’s where we come in, that’s where we help." The non-profit organisation is hoping to raise $140,000 at this year’s telethon. “Just to put that into perspective, for our foster home for example, we receive a grant of $225,000 a year but it costs about $400,000 to run that. So we need to find the remainder,”
Rotaractors took the lead this past weekend in collecting funds at a Foster’s Food Fair for the National Council of Voluntary Organisations.
This Sunday at 7:30am, RCGC will be cleaning up the small beach area downtown next to the plaza that has Cabana and Casanova. The same beach where the fresh fish market is held during the day.
RCGC have been a great support for all that we have done this year, let us try and support them!
Originally scheduled for this week, the orientation will be rescheduled for a date in November.
'Discover The World of Rotary 2015' is an opportunity for all members to enhance their knowledge of Rotary International, The Rotary Foundation and of course the Rotary Club of Grand Cayman Sunrise. The format will be engaging and interactive designed to promote fellowship and knowledge.
Red Badge members this is an opportunity to tick the 'Orientation" box on your list of tasks to complete prior to getting your blue badge.
The evening will be combined with a "pot luck" fellowship. This means we will ask each attendee to either bring a food item or something to drink. This way we can do the event at no charge.

If members are unable to make a regular weekly meeting or Rotary event, make-ups can be done online. The e-Club website is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. You just need to spend a minimum of 30 minutes on the site and answer some questions to get the make up certificate.
Traveling: If you are going to be traveling for an extended period of time (more than two weeks), be sure to let the Secretary know and remember to submit any make-ups you do in a timely manner.
