It was a memorable meeting as we welcomed two new members into our Rotary family, expanding the connections and energy within our club. We also celebrated the spirit of Service Above Self by recognizing a member with a Paul Harris Fellow +3, honoring their continued commitment and generous support of The Rotary Foundation. The meeting was a great reminder of what makes Rotary special: bringing people together, recognizing service, and creating opportunities to make a meaningful difference in our communities and beyond.

August is Rotary's Membership and New Club Development Month, so we used our August 13th meeting to lay out this year's club goals and where the openings are to get involved. We covered all fifteen goals for 2026 to 2027, how the club grows through projects and events rather than pitches, the member resources most of us aren't using, Rotary Foundation giving and our new mini grant program, and how FundScrip earns money for the club without anyone donating a dollar. We had an exceptional presentation on the Rotary Fire Trailers, specifically built for remote indigenous communities to enable quick local community response to fires.
