News from our Club
Today was a very eventful day. June 24, 2026 marked the last event with President Sugar Han presiding. It was a night where our members learned about various wines provided by Jasmin Kim, the CEO of Mavin Korea and fellow SRC member. But the highlight of our night was the awarding of five scholarships! We also had a special performance by one of our scholarship recepients this year!

At the District Breakfast on June 22, 2026, President Sugar Han received the Outstanding Club Award and the Membership Growth Excellence Award on behalf of the Seoul Rotary Club. Other awards SRC received were Best Service Project Award and Rotary Korea Scholarship Foundation Award. President Sugar did an excellent job in leading the club during the 2026-27 Rotary year for our club to receive these awards. And we would like to recognize all of SRC members' efforts in making this possible!

For the month of May, instead of the regular Breakfast Meetings, District 3650 held a Rotary Night. It was meant to be a more relaxed environment where Rotarians were encouraged to bring guests. The night was a fun one where we shared our achievements as a District, many contributions were made to the Paul Harris Fund, and our President Sugar Han received the Best Dressed Award!

On May 20, 2026, the Seoul Rotary Club held it's Dinner Meeting at Tanny Cafe. The Seoul Chess Club held a special chess lesson for our members. In addition, we had visitors from the Rotaract Club of Osaka join our meeting. In addition, students from the Rotaract Clubs we sponsor at Hankuk University of Foreign Studies and Ewha Women's University provided the Osaka members a tour of Seoul.

On May 18, 2026, the Seoul Rotary Club held their monthly commitment to serving hot meals at the Warm Hearted Center near Seoul Station.

We had a wonderful time volunteering together and sharing a club flag exchange with Rotarian Kristen Chun from the Philadelphia Rotary Club! Kristen is in Seoul on behalf of the Philadelphia Orchestra, ahead of their visit this November. It was truly inspiring to connect through service, and we hope to see her again soon!

For our Luncheon Meeting on May 6, 2026 at the Bankers Club, our guest speaker was Doii Lee. Doii Lee is a fashion designer with experience in the Fashion Houses of John Galliano and Kenzo. She also has experience in launching her own fashion line. Currently, Ms. Lee also serves as a Production Designer and Visual Director where she consults on projects related to K-Pop and K-Dramas. She shared her experiences in fashion and how she used her creative skills to transition to a related but different medium.
