Opening and Sgt at Arms Report
Pres Chad opened the meeting.  The 4 Way test was said by Michael Mitchell. Todd did the Innvocation and we all toasted life, the universe and Rotary.

Brian Williams said that there were 25 members present including Honorary Rotarian Don Fanstone. Visiting Rotarian was Yvonne Weir of the North Bay club. Dave Rich was a quest of Rena.
50-50 Draw

The draw was administered by Painless Pearson. Paul McMenemy lost but Brian Waddell won. Some confusion arose as to why the ACE was present in the deck???

Good News
Linda B. said they had a great holiday in Curacao. And then they went and bought a house on Lake Huron. ( Holidays can be expensive!)

Don Fanstone said he was surprised and most cheered up by receiving a gift basket from our club as thank you for all those New Years Prognostications.

Andrew Leith said they had had an ' up and down' holiday season. His dad was ill and passed away. Andrew expressed some very meaningful words that came from his dad about the support of family being very important.

Jokester
Paul told me a saucy joke after the meeting about a man coming home and finding his wife dead in bed.  And that is all I have to say about that.

Announcements and Upcoming Events
Todd ramped up our excitement over Bingo. He said Linda should get an electric car to drive back to Bingo from Lake Huron.
It will be a lot of fun. We do not have to deal with money or irritating questions from the players. The staff do that.
It is great value for our time spent. About $200/hr which is better than our other fundraising ventures.
Dress is black slacks, running shoes that don't squeek, and shirt with a collar.
You can play bingo on a charity night, next on Jan 29th, to see what it is like from the other side. Todd will confirm this.
Noah said it is good for the club to have another fundraiser....it keeps us in the black.

Marcia spoke of Eucre next Friday night at 6:45. More people are needed as players or volunteers. Even singles like Todd are welcome. Where is it? Ask Marcia.

Chad reminded us of Next President Heidi's levy on Feb 13th at our regular time.
Tom Everett sent a message through Chad re: the Curling Bonspiel on March 5th.
Chad said there is a Fireside on Tues Feb. 11th. 5;30 social,6:30 meeting. It is usually held at Quarry House in Wrinkle Walk. That will be confirmed or denied by the usual media sources.

President Chad introduced our own Dr Phil who did his ' Who am I'
It soon became apparent that Dr Phil has done a lot and seen many parts of the world before settling down to his craft here in Cambridge.
His Dad is from Malta and Mom from Slovenia. They were professional ballroom dancers but those genes were not passed on to their son.
They lived near Alliston, did home renovation, owned a trailer park, took part in pig roasts and potato festivals.
Soccer and badminton were big parts of his life.
He went to University in Kingston and did a tour of Europe on a shoestring budget.
Getting in to Chiropractic school was delayed by what was planned to be not a long stint teaching English in S. Korea. He went in 2004 and ended up spending 9yrs there, getting married and having a son.
In 2013 they came back and he did his 4 years of Chiropractic training in Toronto.
He is now happily working in Cambridge. His goals are to move his family to Cambridge and get more involved in Rotary.
Welcome to the Club.
