The Charity was established with the purpose of supporting fundraising initiatives of the Port Arthur Rotary Club as it continues to address both community and international needs. The initial designated funds within the Charity are:
- Waterfront Trail (thunderbaywaterfronttrail.com)
- Polio Plus (https://www.rotary.org/en/plus-polioplus)
- General
Other designated funds may be added in the future. Donations to the General Fund may be used for the general purposes of the charity or to support an identified Club project or another non-profit organization.
The Rotary Club of Thunder Bay (Port Arthur) Community Charity will receive and maintain a fund or funds and to apply all or part of the principal and income therefrom, from time to time, to charitable organizations that are also registered charities under the Income Tax Act (Canada).
