On February 17, 2022 Jeff and Cathy Carr visited Salem Kiwanis.  They shared their story about losing their son while he was serving our county.  They are now a Gold Star Family.  We are very thankful for the service of their family and the ultimate sacrifice made for all of us.  They are pictured below.
 
On Thursday, February 10, 2022, Eloise Traina was the guest speaker at Salem Kiwanis.  Eloise is the Executive Director at Family Recovery Center.  Eloise provided the Club an update on the issues in the county and the recovery efforts provided by FRC. She told an inspiring story of an individual who has turned his life around and is now helping others.  Eloise is pictured below with Kiwanis Member and Co-President, Debbie Leggett.
 
On Thursday, January 27, 2022, Salem Kiwanis had visitors from the Columbiana County Prosecutor's Office.  Investigator Jennifer Tedrow and Assistant Prosecutor Bret Hartup spoke about the operations of the office and the collaborative efforts that bring a case through the process from investigation to prosecution.  Pictured below are the 2 guest speakers with Kiwanis Board Member, Shelley Bergman.
 
 
 
On Thursday, January 20, 2022, the Salem Kiwanis Club guest speaker was Tricia Hovorka. Tricia spoke to the Club regarding ways to live a healthy good life along with demonstrating simple exercises used to achieve it.  Tricia is the owner of Your Best Self, a fitness and personal training facility located at 273 Benton Rd, Salem. Pictured below is Tricia along with Doug Falk, Kiwanis Co-President. 
 
Dr. Sevilla was the guest speaker on January 13, 2022 at the Salem Kiwanis Club meeting. His talk covered “Covid 2 Years Later.” He spoke about the information known now about Covid that we didn’t know 2 years ago, what is different and what we do going forward. Pictured below are Kiwanis Co-President, Debbie Leggett and speaker Dr. Mike Sevilla.
 
On Saturday, December 11, 2021 Kiwanis hosted an event for children to do activities and meet Santa at Kast Iron Soda Works. It was an awesome events!  
 
 
 
On December 9, 2021, the guest speaker at Kiwanis was Tricia Hughes Ross. Tricia provided information regarding her new store in downtown Salem, Nature + Nurture.  The store demonstrates nurturing through nature and is a great addition to the downtown.  
 
On Thursday, December 2, 2021, the guest speaker at the Salem Kiwanis Meeting was Josh Kuszmaul from Raptor Hollow.  Josh spoke to the Club about birds of prey.  It was very interesting!
 
The guest speaker at Salem Kiwanis on November 18, 2021 was Erica Richter.  Erica is the Humane Agent for the Humane Society and spoke to the Club about the Society and her job.
 
The Veteran's Day Program at the Salem Kiwanis meeting on November 11, 2021 was Marilyn Mong.  Marilyn spoke to the Club about women in the military.  Thank you to all for your service!
 
On Thursday, November 4, the guest speaker at the Salem Kiwanis meeting was Kathleen Moliterno. Kathleen spoke to the club about Yellowbrick Place, a non-profit organization providing support to cancer patients.
