Chuck Crocker introduced Hayley Edwards, Executive Director for Urban Stable. The registered charity specializes in assisting teams and individuals to overcome barriers, build confidence and strengthen connections to their education, organizations, and community through working with horses. Hayley is a certified Canadian Therapeutic Riding Association (CanTRA) Senior Instructor, Equestrian Canada Instructor of Beginners and CanTRA instructor mentor. Hayley joined the Urban Stable team in 2014 and has over fourteen years experience in the therapeutic riding and equine facilitated learning industry.
Haley highlighted changes in programming and their move to a new facility north of Stonewall. She thanked Rotary for its financial support and linking Urban Stable with Westgrove School. David Morris thanked Haley for her presentation and gave her a cheque from the club. See more info here. President Glenn spoke about his nephew who cares full time for Matty, a young man with complex needs. Matty benefits from interactions with animals, knowing that he's rewarded for being calm.
