Roll up your sleeves and join fellow Rotarians for a morning of service at Reunity Resources—followed by lunch and fellowship at Second Street Brewery! We'll spend the morning helping with projects around Reunity's farm and learning garden. Depending on the number of volunteers and current needs, projects may include painting, planting, spreading mulch, improvements to the bird pen, work on a shade structure for the compost area, and other hands-on projects around the property. Reunity Resources works to build a more sustainable and equitable local food system through its farm, soil program, community education and youth programming. This is a great opportunity to work alongside fellow Rotarians while supporting an organization doing meaningful, hands-on work in our Santa Fe community. [VOLUNTEERS NEEDED] We'll work from 9 AM–Noon, but if you need to arrive late or leave early, that's okay—come lend a hand for whatever time you can. And after the work is done: we'll head to Second Street Brewery for lunch, beverages and some well-earned Rotary fellowship. Joining us for lunch is optional—and even if you can't stay for the full service project, we'd still love to have you participate for whatever time you can. D'Albor works closely with multiple city entities—including infrastructure, zoning, and transit planning groups like the Santa Fe Metropolitan Planning Organization (SFMPO)—to align municipal master plans with commercial development and workforce needs. From streamlining navigation through city resource channels to hosting monthly one-on-one consultation sessions at the Santa Fe Business Incubator, D'Albor’s focus remains firmly on local ecosystem building. Additionally, D'Albor oversees key city development advisory bodies, serving as the primary liaison for committees that shape local industry growth, community engagement, and strategic municipal assets.
At our September 17 meeting, D'Albor will discuss current municipal initiatives driving regional development, the intersections of long-range urban planning with local commerce, and the collaborative programs designed to keep Santa Fe's economy resilient and interconnected. |

Working alongside the Santa Fe Watershed Association and the City of Santa Fe River & Watershed Team, we'll spend the morning removing litter and debris from the Santa Fe River corridor, helping to protect wildlife, improve water quality, and preserve this beautiful community space for everyone to enjoy. Rotary Road Trip: Estancia Pumpkin Chunkin'You haven't truly experienced autumn in New Mexico until you've seen a Pumpkin Chunkin'! Join fellow Rotarians for a fun-filled day in Estancia as we support the Rotary Club of Estancia's Annual Pumpkin Chunkin', one of the community's most unique fall traditions. We'll carpool from Santa Fe in time for the morning parade before heading to the Pumpkin Chunkin' grounds just west of town, where specially designed trebuchets, catapults, and air cannons launch pumpkins incredible distances in a friendly competition. Admission to the event supports the Estancia Rotary Club's High School Scholarship Program, making this a wonderful opportunity to enjoy a memorable day while supporting Rotary's commitment to education and youth. While you're there, explore the local arts and crafts vendors, visit the nearby Manzano Mountain Retreat, and enjoy the festive atmosphere that draws visitors from across New Mexico. No artistic experience required! Club artists traditionally join the fun to offer encouragement and guidance, while Rotarians and guests create original works that will be auctioned at the Rotary Club meeting the following day. Celebrating Our Pancakes on the Plaza Grant Recipients + Painting for Polio AuctionEvery stack of pancakes served on the Fourth of July helps make a lasting difference in our community. Join us for a special Rotary meeting as we celebrate the nonprofit organizations selected to receive funding through Pancakes on the Plaza, Rotary Club of Santa Fe's signature annual fundraiser and one of Santa Fe's most cherished Independence Day traditions. For nearly 50 years, Pancakes on the Plaza has brought together thousands of residents and visitors while raising hundreds of thousands of dollars to support local youth and families. Proceeds are distributed through the Rotary Club of Santa Fe Foundation to organizations providing critical services and programs that strengthen our community. Representatives from this year's grant recipient organizations will join us to share their missions, the impact of their work, and how Pancakes on the Plaza helps them serve the people of Santa Fe. World Polio DayEvery year on October 24, Rotary members around the world recognize World Polio Day and celebrate the extraordinary progress made toward eradicating one of history's most devastating diseases. Since launching PolioPlus in 1985, Rotary and its partners have helped reduce polio cases worldwide by more than 99.9%, protecting billions of children and bringing the world closer than ever to a polio-free future. But the work isn't finished. Rotary Club of Santa Fe is proud to be part of this historic global effort. Our 2026–27 PolioPlus fundraising goal is $2,500, and this October we'll mark World Polio Day with our own Painting for Polio tradition. On Wednesday, October 21, Rotarians will gather to turn blank canvases into original works of art in support of PolioPlus. The paintings will be auctioned during our Thursday, October 22 Club meeting, helping raise funds toward our local PolioPlus goal just two days before World Polio Day. Life and Legacy: Navigating Wills, Trusts, and Estate PlanningNechama D. Minkowicz is an accomplished Santa Fe-based legal professional, educator, and former judge who serves as the founder and principal attorney of Lasting Legacy Law LLC. Specializing in estate planning, life and legacy coordination, and asset protection, she focuses on empowering families and individuals through comprehensive legal education. Before finding her true calling in estate law, Minkowicz dedicated twenty-three years to the field of education, working as a teacher and successfully founding and directing her own grant-funded school. Driven by a desire to help everyday individuals better navigate and understand the complexities of the legal system, she transitioned to the law, earning her Juris Doctorate followed by a Master of Laws (LL.M.) in Advocacy. Her distinguished legal career includes years as a successful litigation attorney, followed by a judicial appointment to the bench by Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham in 2020. As a judge, she presided over a wide range of civil and criminal cases, adjudicated bench trials, and ruled on key constitutional issues while dramatically reducing backlogged court dockets. Today, she utilizes her deep courtroom and judicial experience to help clients avoid costly, public probate battles. At our October 29 meeting, Minkowicz will provide practical, straightforward guidance on navigating unexpected life situations. Maria Sanchez-Tucker, Interim Director of the New Mexico History Museum. She will share insights on the museum's latest initiatives, upcoming exhibitions, and ongoing efforts to preserve and celebrate New Mexico's rich cultural heritage. Ms. Sanchez-Tucker brings more than 20 years of leadership in public administration, libraries, and historical preservation. She previously served as Community Services Director and Library Division Director for the City of Santa Fe, as well as founding Executive Director of the Bessemer Historical Society. She holds advanced degrees in museum science and library science, and her projects have earned grants from the NEA, NEH, and IMLS.
