The mission of The Rotary Foundation of Rotary International is to enable Rotarians to advance world understanding, goodwill, and peace through the improvement of health, the support of education, and the alleviation of poverty.
Rotary’s seven Areas of Focus are categories of service activities supported by Foundation global grants.   The Areas of Focus are:
  • Supporting Education
  • Fighting Disease
  • Providing Clean Water
  • Saving Mothers and Children
  • Growing Local Economies
  • Promoting Peace
  • Environment & Sustainability
The Rotary Foundation offers grants that support humanitarian projects, scholarships, and vocational training teams through:
  • Global grants support large international projects with long term, sustainable outcomes in one or more of Rotary’s areas of focus.
  • District Grants fund smaller scale, short term projects that address immediate needs in your community or abroad.75
  • Disaster Response Grants allow districts to respond extremely rapidly to local disasters, such as earthquakes, floods and bushfires. Clubs can leverage Rotary Foundation grants with District Designated Funds and Share funds to maximise projects’ impact.
Since it was founded more than 100 years ago, the Foundation has spent more than $4 billion on life-changing, sustainable projects across the world.
The Rotary Club of Moe is involved in many activities in support of the Areas of Focus, including:
  • Supporting Education - helping to provide education opportunities in our Adopt a School project in Bali through provision of school uniforms and refurbishment of building and equipment;
  •  the Rotary Junior Community Awards in local primary schools; Student Pride of Workmanship Awards; support for secondary students through the Foundation Student Scholarships program.
  • Fighting Disease – ongoing support for the Rotary global End Polio Now project and promotion of World Polio Day; donations to local health and support services, including Latrobe Regional Hospital and Gippsland Rotary Centenary House; support for District Governor Partner’s projects, including Glaucoma and Rotary against Malaria initiatives.
