Dear Rotarians, Rotaractors and Interactors,

Most of us are accustomed to meeting in person, exchanging stories, supporting each other, and planning projects face-to-face.  Now, it is even more important to support our club members and STAY CONNECTED.  Connecting now could ensure that we have a strong membership going forward.  A number of Clubs have already tried ‘Zoom’ meetings, and some are doing virtual social get-togethers and fundraisers (Tip:  try virtual meetings a few times and you’ll iron out the ‘bugs’).  Check out the District website calendar for virtual events that are happening and join in!  If your Club is having a virtual meeting or event, please consider posting it on the District calendar so others can join you.  Reach out by phone to any members who miss virtual meetings or you haven’t heard from you.  Together we can STAY CONNECTED! There's more ..........

For more info on ‘Zoom’ meetings and how to set them up, visit the District website https://www.rotary7070.org/  and the March 23, 2020 – COVID-19 Update from District 7070.

Mark your calendars!  With the cancellation of the District Assembly on May 9,  the District Leadership Team has scheduled two important, informative and fun events in the coming months:

  1. Online session - District 7070 Budget Review, Insurance Update and new Strategic Plan!  May 9, 2020, 9-11:00am.  Hear from District Treasurer Larry Whatmore about the 2020-21 District budget and membership levies.  Club Presidents or proxies will be asked to lend support to the budget through an online voting process.  In addition, Rotarians Ken Wheeler and Rachel Boyd will outline how the District is ensuring that Clubs have adequate liability insurance and protection.  Past District Governor Lynda Ryder, our District’s Protection Officer, will be on hand to contribute to these discussions.  Finally, after months of membership feedback, our new District Strategic Plan will be introduced!    We encourage Club Presidents, and incoming club officers such as President Elects, Treasurers, Secretaries, and interested District 7070 members to participate.  Please register by April 30.  Cost is free.  Link for online session will be sent prior to meeting to those who have registered.
  2. District Diversity, Equity & Inclusion and Year-end Celebration!   June 27, 2020,  Toronto.  This event will be open to all District Rotarians, Rotaractors and Interactors.  Confirmation of the date and exciting details to follow.
Yours in Rotary,
