Are you looking for a literacy project? In addition, John Thorne, Chair of LitRAG has a letter to all Rotarians . Please read more........

My fellow Rotarians ,

Rotary Greetings in this New Year of Service.

Following an exciting International Convention we now enter a new Rotary year when we can offer new activities or consolidate earlier ones to those we serve.
The  Newsletter shares some recent experiences as well as some pointed suggestions for you to work with in your community.
On the last page of the Newsletter, you will see the announcement for this year's opportunity to win US $400 for your club. You will note that September 8 is International Literacy Day and all of September is Literacy Month for Rotary. All submissions for the $400 will be featured in future Newsletters and that gives our members and friends the opportunity to see what you are doing and perhaps replicate that activity in their community. Rotary Connects the World.
We are also offering a poster for you and/or your club to use for International Literacy Day. It can be found if you click here - Literacy Day.  We believe you could use this to widely advertise this special day and share awareness for the need for basic education for all ages.
So today there are two items you can view.
(1) Newsletter  and (2) Literacy Day.
Our Literacy Action Group trusts you have a great year; we will do our best to serve you. Please keep in touch and share your news. Thank you.

John G. Thorne - Chair of the Literacy Rotarian Action Group & Past Director of RI.
