Global or District Grant Projects? Your Club Must Be Qualified!

Thanks to the Rotary Foundation, Rotary Clubs in District 7070 and around the world can do good in their communities and internationally through projects boasted by District or Global Grants. However, to participate in the Grants program, Clubs must be qualified. This is a yearly process. The qualification is valid for one Rotary year.

To become qualified, Club must do the following two things

  • Have two of its members attend the District’s Qualification Seminar, and

  • Have its President and President-Elect sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the District.

The D7070 Qualification Seminar for the 2018-19 Rotary year will take place at the Oshawa Golf and Country Club, 160 Alexandra Street, Oshawa, Saturday, February 10, 2018. Registration from 08.30, with coffee and tea available. The seminar will start 09.00 sharp. We plan to be finished by 13.30 (1.30pm). A break with beverage and sandwiches will happen about halfway. Lunch will not be served, as we believe attendees would rather have a somewhat shorter day.

The Seminar will cover the following issues

  • The SHARE system – the important relationship between raising funds for the Annual Fund of the Rotary Foundation and the Grants program

  • Important changes to the program

  • Global grants and

  • District Grants

A couple of cases will be presented to illustrate the Global and District Grant program.

Attendees are encouraged to bring a tablet, laptop or another device, as the Global Grant application in particular is done on-line.

Please, register for the free Qualification Seminar on-the at District’s website, www.rotary7070.org no later than February 4, 2018.

Please also note that while it is mandatory to have two members attend a Qualification Seminar, it must not be the same members each year. Sending members, who haven’t been to a Seminar, may be a good way of increasing the knowledge in the Club of the Rotary Foundation and the Grants Program.

Please, feel free to contact PDG Lars Henriksson, lars@norditrade.com if you have any questions.
