Congratulations to the Earlyact Club at Murray Centennial School in Trenton, Ontario. They engaged the whole school, raised money and partnered with the Trenton Rotary Club to raise much needed funds for PolioPlus, Rotary's signature program to eradicate Polio from the world. Read more to find out what they did and how they did it........

Here is the story from Dr. Kim Lee, Director of International Service in the Rotary Club of Trenton:

Murray Centennial School had a school campaign in support of the Trenton Rotary Club /International Project to raise funds to Eradicate Polio  to help the children of the world get vaccinated against Polio. This initiative was led by the Earlyact Club of Murray Centennial School and engages all of the students from grades 1-8. This fundraising brought awareness to Rotary's PolioPlus campaign. The students and teachers paid $1.00 to have a finger nail painted, just like the children in countries far away from Trenton, to indicate that they were immunized against ever having polio . This idea was developed, so that the Rotarians and the PolioPlus volunteers who administered the vaccine, could go back the next day and ensure that every child was vaccinated the day before. No purple pinkie meant that child would now get the vaccine. The Earlyact club members really are "People of Action".

The event will took place at Murray Centennial School, during the lunch hour 11am to 12pm this year.

The Earlyact club raised $405.00 and that was matched by the Youth Committee and International Committee at the Trenton Rotary Club for a total amount $1,215.00.
