The donation was the brainchild of Dr. CP Giri, Past President of the Richmond Hill Rotary Club, who has been an External Examiner for the School of Dentistry at the University of Guyana in Georgetown, since 2011. Dr. Giri has been a strong supporter of the School, and has participated in numerous Clinical Exams and Continuing Dental Education CDE sessions with our students over the years.
Fundraising for a Rotary Dental Project for Guyana began in 2017, and culminated in June 2018, when the valuable Portable Dental Equipment was posted to us. The Donation is very welcome, as it will serve to improve the Clinical Clerkship of the BDS students of the School, through Clinical Practice and Dental Outreach Programs hosted by the School, in collaboration with the Dental Department of the Ministry of Public Health.
We take this opportunity to express our profound gratitude for this valuable gift to our School, which we will treasure for a long time to come, and put to maximum benefit for our student population, in expanding their Clinical Clerkship and professional experience in Dentistry. ALL DENTAL SERVICE PROVIDED TO THE PUBLIC WILL BE FREE OF COST.
