THANK YOU To all Rotarians and Rotaractors, your familiy and friends right across Canada:

Brushamania and the very first Great Canadian Brushoff were a huge success in 2020. According to Colgate, a long-time sponsor of Brushmania, over 10,000 families right across Canada were reached for the April 22, Great Canadian Brushoff and the draw for the prizes is not yet over. Still time to enter, kids . Even a Past Rotary International President and a Past Rotary International Vice President got out their toothpaste and toothbrush and brushed their teeth for 2 minutes. And so did many members of District 7070's Governor Team (past, present and future). See some of the photos on https://brushamania.ca/ . Thanks to Rotary Clubs right across Canada. This is the 20th year of Brushamania and Rotary's continuing efforts to promote good oral health in our country. Please read the rest of the story and see how it went.....

PLEASE SHARE THIS POST WITH ALL OF YOUR ROTARIANS, ROTARACTORS AND FRIENDS ACROSS THE COUNTRY AS WE KICKED OFF THE VERY FIRST GREAT CANADIAN BRUSHOFF ON APRIL 22.

Thank you to the organizers of this great event for 20 years: from the Scarborough Rotary Passport Club: Dr. Raffy Chouljian and Jennifer Fogarty, District 7070

Over 300 Rotary Clubs all over Canada have some great ways to keep your kids entertained this month and have fun at home while staying healthy.

April was Oral Health Month in Canada and Rotary Club members encouraged children across Canada to enter the Brush-a-mania online contest at www.brushamania.ca.

Dr. Raffy Chouljian, Past President of the Scarborough Rotary Passport Club, and founder of Brushamania announced to the children of Canada, “We are giving away an Xbox One and 50 Android tablets just for brushing your teeth.”

The contest is still open from April 1 to May 31, 2020 to all elementary students in Canada. We are asking everyone to go to www.brushamania.ca for contest rules and to register. Be sure to tell your kids and grandkids.

Dr. Chouljian added, “As we celebrate our 20th year of Brush-a-mania, we are also organizing the Great Canadian Brush-off.”

“We asked all Canadians, of any age, to join in the fun on Wednesday April 22 at 12 noon EDT by brushing their teeth for 2 minutes and then go to www.brushamania.ca to register and participate while promoting good oral health,” he added.

Dr Chouljian asked everyone to send him your fun pics and videos brushing your teeth. “Be sure to  share your family brushing together on social media and please use the hashtag @brushamania”, he said. We have some for you . You may even recognize some of these Rotary brushers.

Brush-a-mania is a not-for-profit program designed to promote oral health and awareness among young children from Junior Kindergarten to Grade 6. It was started in 2001 by the Scarborough Rotary Passport Club and has already reached over 800,000 students across Canada.

“Our goal is to educate and motivate children and bring together dentists, Rotarians, teachers and parents to create a celebration together around the importance of proper dental care in a fun and interactive way”, he said.

For two decades, Brushamania has coordinated dentist visits to schools to educate students. Each student receives a toothbrush and toothpaste compliments of our major sponsor Colgate. This year, because of the school closures and COVID-19 crisis, Brushamania is unable to reach the students directly through the schools.  However, educating and motivating the children remains our top priority.

Rotarians , here in District 7070, along with the more than 300 Clubs across the country asked for the public’s help  to reach every student in Canada.
