This youth exchange event reconnects inbound and outbound students in a fun filled weekend BBQ and sleep over.   Attendance for all Youth Exchange Students is Mandatory.

This is a compulsory meeting for all inbound and outbound exchange students.  At least one parent of each outbound student must attend Saturday morning. Attached is the registration form and the location map for the Ruth Clarke Centre in Port Hope.

 PLEASE READ CAREFULLY

DATE:                 8:45 AM Saturday, May 26, 2018 to 1:30 PM Sunday, May 27, 2018.


LOCATION:        Ruth Clarke Centre, 81 Mill St. S., Port Hope.  Off Hwy 401,  take Port Hope Exit 464.  Go south on Ontario St., Veer left on to Mill St to Ruth Clarke Centre. There will be coffee and donuts at 8:45 AM. (See  attached map to Ruth Clarke Centre)


PROGRAM:         Outbound students and at least one parent must attend the orientation and lunch from 8:45 AM TO 1:30 PM.  Inbound students must be at the Ruth Clark Centre by 10:30 AM.  Inbound students who arrive at 8:30 AM  will have social time until 10:30 AM.

After lunch parents of outbounds will depart and inbound and outbound students will be picked up by billets and be brought to Jason & Corin Ewarts' home in Cobourg for social time, swimming and a BBQ dinner.  The billet families will pick their students up after the BBQ to take the students to their respective homes for sleep and breakfast.  The next day the exchange students will be brought by the billets to a Brian McAdam's home at 43 Stoneridge Rd. R.R. 6, Cobourg K9A 4J9 for lunch and social time until departure on Sunday afternoon by 2:30 PM.(a map to Brian's home is attached)


BRING:                Questions, sleeping bag, music, casual clothes, towel, toiletries, swimming attire camera and Rotary smiles. 


COSTS:                Host Clubs are responsible for the orientation costs per inbound/outbound student for the weekend and transportation costs both ways for their inbound student unless being transported by outbound or host parents. Clubs are also responsible for public transportation costs home on Sunday for students if not picked up by their parents. Rotary clubs will be billed by Ron Tuttle for the non-transportation weekend costs.


REGISTRATION:    A registration form (attached) for each Inbound and Outbound student must be completed and emailed by the Club YEO to Brian McAdam atyep7070@sympatico.ca  by May 20. 


TRANSPORT HOME:        1.        Only those travelling West will be able to take a VIA train. They  will have to be taken to the Cobourg station to get the VIA train 65 that leaves at 3:09 PM.  It arrives at Oshawa at 3:41 PM, and at Toronto at 4:17 PM.   

 
2.       All other students should be picked up at Brian McAdam's home before 2:30 PM.
