Calisto J. Bertin

Calisto J. Bertin served as the 58thGovernor of District 7490 in 2014 – 2015.
 
Calisto is a graduate of Villanova University and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
 
He formed Bertin Engineering, a consulting firm in 1986 and later that year joined the Mid-Bergen Rotary. He served his club by actively participating in club functions and holding each office for multiple terms. He and wife Lisa, Rotarian with the Northern Valley Club, have hosted many club functions at their home throughout the years.
 
Calisto plunged into district service as Chief of Staff for PDG Joe Laureni. A few years later he served as District Secretary for PDG Adele Miller. He chaired or assisted in the preparation of the District Directory for several Governors, and has participated in the Group Study Exchange. In 2007, Calisto was appointed a trustee of the Walter D. Head Foundation, now Rotary District 7 490 Foundation. In 2011 Calisto became chair of the foundation and initiated the Rotary Military Family Assistance Center, a food pantry for families of military personnel. Beyond the district, Calisto has served as a facilitator and trainer at the Multi-District PETS since 2007.
 
The Bertin's hosted their first Gift of Life child in 1998 and five additional children since. In recent years, Calisto's primary involvement in the Gift of Life program has been to support Lisa, a member of the Northern Valley Rotary, a trustee and secretary of the Gift of Life Foundation, and Chair of the Gift of Life Celebration.
 
Outside of Rotary, Calisto has long history of vocational service through personal endeavors and participation in several professional organizations. In recognition of this, the district presented Calisto with the Vocational Service Award in 2008.
 
Calisto and Lisa have four adult children, one of which is very active in charitable programs and is the Vice President and Treasurer of the Pennsylvania Chapter of Dress for Success. Calisto and Lisa have two small dogs that are regular companions and often accompany Calisto to work.
