The idea for this celebration was the dream of a local Rotary leader, Richard “Dick” L. Farkas, Col. USAF (Ret.), a member of the Rotary Club of Akron, Ohio USA and District 6630 Governor for 2016-17 until his untimely passing July 2015. He believed we all had the special responsibility and privilege to honor the memory and the vision of Arch C. Klumph, Father of The Rotary Foundation, who had been instrumental in bringing professional music to Cleveland, Ohio USA with a private Rotary CENTENNIAL CELEBRATION CONCERT in his hometown with the critically acclaimed Cleveland Orchestra in the world renowned Severance Hall in Cleveland. We then continue a celebration of his legacy with a CENTENNIAL CELEBRATION DINNER at the Intercontinental Hotel with a dinner recognizing those who have made new donations and commitments to The Rotary Foundation in honor of its 100th Anniversary.
