Last week’s speaker was our own Angus Tuck who provided information on our Colombian Job Training project. To-date we have sponsored in excess of 70 students from Miramar in the Suba, Colombia locality to continue studies at a TAFE equivalent level.
Angus then presented a video, which showed the members of the Bogota Suba Rotary Club who have been working in cooperation with us, managing the distribution of funds to deserving students, identified by their Club. We also saw students receiving their sponsorship funds and thanking us for the assistance we provided to them.
It was very satisfying to see the positive impact that our sponsorship has had on the lives of these young people. Their enthusiasm for study as a way of improving their lives makes the project all worthwhile.
President’s thought for the week “Remember your dreams and fight for them. You must know what you want from life. There is just one thing that makes your dream become impossible: the fear of failure.” Paulo Coelho

Shortly after a British Airways flight had reached its cruising altitude, the captain announced:-
"Ladies and Gentlemen, this is your captain. Welcome to Flight 293, non-stop from London Heathrow to New York .
The weather ahead is good, so we should have an uneventful flight. So, sit back, relax, and . . . OH . . . MY GOD!"
Silence followed......................
Some moments later, the captain came back on the intercom.
"Ladies and Gentlemen, I'm sorry if I scared you. While I was talking to you, a flight attendant accidentally spilled coffee in my lap. You should see the front of my pants!"
From the back of the plane, a passenger yelled "You should see the back of mine!”
