Please join us for this very special meeting and program as the Billings Downtown Rotary Club celebrates 108 years on our Charter Day! To mark this special occasion, we have the honor of welcoming featured guest speaker, Max Baucus! CHARTER DAY with the Billings West Rotary: First elected to the Senate in 1978, Baucus went on to be his state’s longest-serving senator, and a steady legislative influence in the tradition of his friend and political model, Montana’s Senator Mike Mansfield. On a broad range of policy issues both domestic and foreign, he established himself as one of the Senate’s most productive and least partisan members, building a record of accomplishment in areas from agriculture and environmental protection to public works, taxes, and trade. As a home-state newspaper put it, “those who knew him best say Baucus was a senator who worked the legislative trenches to tackle problems he saw facing Montana, rural America and the nation—regardless of the politics.” *The lunch buffet will open at 11:30am in the South Ballroom of the Northern Hotel and the meeting will begin at 12 noon. Looking forward to seeing you all on this very special day! |

It'll be a very special day at our program on Monday, April 22nd where our Hartman Scholarsip Finalists will be announced by the Rotary Foundation Board.
The Hartman Scholarship was established through a generous bequest from former Rotarian Dr. Gerhard "Gerry" Hartman and his wife, Fern. Dr. Hartman was a devoted member of the Billings Rotary Club and a Rotarian for 52 years. Gerry and Fern’s desire to have a long-lasting impact on the college education of youth within the Billings area was the motivation behind the establishment of the Hartman Scholarship.
The scholarship is administered by the Billings Rotary Foundation, the directors of which are members of the Downtown Billings Rotary Club. Every four years a scholarship of $7,500 per year for four years is awarded to a graduating senior, from one of Billings' four high schools, who has a GPA of 3.25 or above, demonstrates financial need, and is nominated by his or her school counselor or principal.
The Barry & Margaret Ann Nolan Scholarship fund was established in the name of long-time Rotarian Barry Nolan and his wife, Margaret Ann. It enables scholarships to be awarded to the student finalists for the Hartman Scholarship in the amount of $500 per year for four years. Barry and Margaret Ann were both very active during Barry’s time as a member of the Billings Rotary Club. Barry served as President and District Governor and was a Multiple Paul Harris Fellow. Always at his side, Margaret Ann was an Honorary Billings Rotary Club member and was also a Paul Harris Fellow.
*The lunch buffet opens at 11:30am in the South Ballroom and our program will begin shorty after 12 noon.
