Memorial and Tribute Gifts

A gift to The Rotary Foundation for a loved one is meaningful way to honor or memorialize that person. Tribute gifts can be a perfect birthday, wedding, or holiday gift for the person who has everything. When you make a tribute or memorial gift, The Rotary Foundation will send a letter to the recipient or the recipient’s family to let them know about your gift. The amount of your gift is not disclosed. We also will send an acknowledgment to you as the donor. You will receive a separate tax receipt for gifts above US$25. To make a gift fill in this form.

Donate Tangible personal property

Gifts of tangible personal property, such as jewelry or artwork, are given careful consideration. Each donation is individually considered before acceptance.

The Rotary Foundation’s general guidelines specify that gifts of jewelry be worth at least US$10,000 and gifts of artwork be valued at a minimum of $25,000. Gifts must also be accompanied by a written proposal, which must include a qualified appraisal, photograph, and supporting materials, such as authentication papers.

If you’re interested in making a gift of tangible personal property, contact the Gift Administration department at giftadministration@rotary.org or Zone 24 Senior Major Gifts Officer Carolyn Ferguson at Carolyn.ferguson@rotary.org or 289-239-7190.

Stocks may be transferred either electronically or by mail. Do not mail stock certificates to the Foundation’s post office box. Stocks and Securities are transferred to the Rotary Foundation (Canada) via RBC Dominion Securities. Download an information sheet for procedures for transmitting gifts of publicly traded securities to The Rotary Foundation (Canada).

To initiate the process, you must obtain an independent qualified appraisal of the property. The property’s value should be at least $100,000 (or $25,000 for undeveloped land) if you wish to make an outright gift to the Foundation.
