Rob Toews of Lakeview Insurance Steinbach is the oldest of three brothers who grew up in Steinbach. With three boys in the house, he still remembers being banned from watching the A Team and Dukes of Hazzard because of the ensuing chaos him and his brothers were inspired to cause after watching the action. Rob was highly active in sports as a child, playing hockey in the winters and baseball in the summers. He fondly recalls......
He fondly recalls family weekends where his parents divided and conquered the sports chauffeuring needs of the three kids, and would meet back up on Sunday evenings for family dinners.
Rob married his wife Suzanne in 1998, and they have two kids of their own: Parker, is 18 and recently graduated, and now works at GreyWolf Golf Course. His daughter Kennedy is 15, and plays baseball for Team Manitoba. This takes Rob across the province to watch her practice in Rotary Park, Portage La Prairie.
Rob has spent much of his parenthood coaching his kids sports team, and was the host chair for the Canadian Summer Games when they game to Steinbach a few years ago. He is grateful for the planning and coordinating experience this afforded him.
Recently moved back to Steinbach, Rob is an active member of the local Legion.
His business career began in the Hog Industry the same year he married his wife. He has managed sow farrowing operations and finishing plants, and has worked for a number of organizations during the 10 year work in this field. As the industry declined in 2008, Rob took a risk of faith in his career change, and connected to the insurance world through a family connection at Lakeview Insurance... and the rest, is history. His insideexperience with the Hog Industry offered him connections to many of the hog industry insurance needs and he continued to expand his experience into other niche insurance categories including equine insurance, home insurance, and even ransom/kidnap insurance.
Rob's experience with Lakeview Insurance in Winnipeg, and his hard work and dedication grew his reputation for customer service and knowledge, and in 2014 he became a Partner at Lakeview Insurance and opened the local office in Steinbach.
