- New Business:
- RoadRunner & CTBO ticket sales. Discussion took place in relation to Jenn Matthews’ request for clarification of the expectations for the RoadRunner Club to sell tickets on a regular basis. Kent indicated there had been some discussion within Rotary about some form of financial return on sales if a group is selling tickets long-term; however, the arrangement is for this round only for the RoadRunner Club. Monica indicated it would be important to let them know that there is not an expectation to sit at a store/table to sell unless they have the time and wish to do so. It would also be important to share with them that ticket sales can be done on-line and via e-transfer, so they can connect with all contacts and family in any manner they wish in order to sell tickets as well. Don D. said that the RoadRunners have sold 3 full books initially, and 16 tickets this past week. Don will take them tickets today and clarify that whatever they can sell is great, and in whatever way works for them – he will let them know if there are open slots at the various community locations, they are welcome to sell there but it is not expected. If someone form RoadRunners wishes to sit at stores in the community, Peter mentioned that Giant Tiger is available, and Margaret mentioned that we can sell at the Otineka Mall as well – note: for tickets sold at the Mall we pay a 3% return on total sales to OCN.
- Digital sign rental. Monica had shared the rates for use of the sign at the last Executive meeting.
- Club Banners: Tim will provide a report when he has the new mock-ups ready.
- Exchange Student and RYLA (Rotary Youth Leadership Award): The Junior RYLA students will provide a report at a future Rotary meeting.
- Presentations: None.
- Unfinished Business:
- Fish Fry – Handout tickets 1½ weeks! Decision this Friday! Approximately 50 tickets are sold to date. Members are asked to remind people to get their tickets, and that this Friday (October 6) is the last day for purchasing of the Fish Fry tickets. Peter mentioned that if we could have it on the Facebook page (Rotary) and our personal pages each day this may garner more sales – and ensure people know they must get their tickets by Friday. Monica mentioned that there are quite a number of prizes which will be available, and advertising that may help as well – and perhaps we can recommend to employers/groups that they purchase a table of 8. Members are to advise Doug Long (204.624.5709) by 5 PM on Friday, October 6 how many tickets they have sold. If a minimum of 100 tickets are not sold by then, the event will be cancelled.
