Call to Order:
1. Land Acknowledgement
2. Guests : Derek Frost-Hunt (Father of Rikki Frost-Hunt, last week’s CTBO winner)
3. Visiting Rotarians: None.
4. Birthdays and Anniversaries : Nov 26th – Dec.2nd None
5. Approval of Minutes : November 12 and 19, 2024 minutes were approved.
6. Presentations : None
7. Correspondence :
a. Northern Health Region Holiday Luncheon- reminder that the Luncheon is this
Friday at 11:30 a.m. at the hospital cafeteria. All Rotarians are invited, and please wear your
Rotary jersey if you are attending.
b. Rotary International Convention early bird pricing expires mid-December – Julia
McKay and Val and Jim Berschied have registered. If anyone else is interested, please keep
this in mind and register soon.
c. Honoring Indigenous Peoples (HIP) Program request for support. This will be
considered at the Rotary Board meeting next week, and a report will be brought back to the
Club.
8. Committee Reports:
a. Catch The Big One. Derek Frost-Hunt accepted the cheque for Rikki Frost-Hunt,
and drew Donna Madrigga’s name. Donna won $976, and the CTBO continues for
another week. We will suspend ticket sales from December 24 (last draw before
Christmas) and begin again with the draw for January 7, 2025. We will not sell on
December 31, and Don Dunnigan will advise Devon about this so the tickets will not
be printed for a December 31 draw date.
9. Board of Directors Report: None.
10. New Business :
a. Michael will continue to talk to his contact about the price of Lobster so we
can plan a drive through event in May, and will keep us posted about the cost.
11. Unfinished Business :
a. Grant Certification seminars- The final seminars are this week.
b. Ally Buck (Shelter Box) – this will stay on the agenda and if someone is able to
print the 3D models, please let the Club know.
c. Meals on Wheels in November – this week is covered, other than Saturday.
Julia will talk to Don McKay about delivering Saturday if he is able to do so.
12. Club Banners : Don McKay is looking after the banners, and will report back to the Club when
there is new information.
13. Exchange Student and RYLA (Rotary Youth Leadership Award) : Joao needs a host
for December 10 and 11, and we need others to step up to take him in the future. Rick
Hubbs agreed to host during these days while Linda is away.
The Club discussed the lack of interest in the Rotary Exchange Student Program compared
to what it was in the past – partly due to the make-up of our Club and also the costs
involved for families. It was agreed that after this year, we will suspend the Program until
further notice. We may begin the Program again if there is an uptake in interest in the
future. Also in future, exchange parents will be asked to assist in finding host homes for any
exchange students for the entire time a student will be here to ensure that all arrangements
are in place prior to visiting students arriving.

15. Club 100th Anniversary (2029) PERMANENT AGENDA ITEM:

17. Sun, Dec 1st – Rotary Seniors’ Christmas Tea, Wescana Inn Rendezvous Room. Volunteers please be to the Wescana by noon.
Fri, Dec 13th & Sat, Dec 14th – Bill McDonald Memorial Basketball Tournament.Don Murphy confirmed that refs are booked.
18. Four-Way Test: Is it the TRUTH?
