a. Catch The Big One – Rob White, last week’s consolation winner, drew Dawn Madden’s ticket was pulled which resulted in envelope #13 being opened. The card it conta inedthe king of hearts giving Dawn a consolation prize of $723. The jackpot starts at $27 117.50 for the Oct 1st draw .

10. New Business:
a. Club Assessment survey from Wayne Jacobsen DGE (District Governor Elect) for District 5550. No information came forward b. Thursday, Oct 24th, World Polio Day – It was felt that we should be doing something other than just donating club money to the cause. A radio pledge drive was suggested though planning must start much sooner for this.
11. Unfinished Business:
a. Patronage booklet – Committee will be starting soon.
b. Mural dedication date to be determined – Destination Marketing needs to Service Above Self Rotary Club of The Pas Meeting of Tuesday, September 24th, 12:00 P.M.Wescana Rendezvous Room set a date
c. Fish Fry 2024 –
i. Feedback? Coffee needs to be done differently. Going back to using an urn seems like the best option. The table at the front door need to be configured differently. Having the raffle tickets being sold at the same table as the liquor tickets caused a lot of congestion. The suggestion was made to move the raffle tickets to behind the entrance table. More tartar sauce was needed. Raise the two bottles purchased this year to six for next year. Tickets sold this year were comparable to numbers from last year.
ii. Confirm ID prize of prize winners – All have been confirmed. Many positive statements have been mentioned to members about the Fish Fry. Pat yourselves on the back for a job well done!
d. UCN Linkages reception is on Tuesday, October 8th from 4 pm to 8 pm The coordinator was okay with 10 people and has given us the go ahead to sell Catch The Big One tickets at the event.
e. Meals on Wheels in November - Please make ensure Monica has a copy of your Vulnerable Persons Record Check. A schedule was tabled for signup. All but one week is covered. It was mentioned that having two people makes things a bit easier so if you can help with the activity but have not signed up please consider doing so.
12. Club Banners: Themed Mock ups were shared and suggestions for improvement were requested. Don 3 will be in Winnipeg onTuesday to talk with a Contempra employee about options costs, etc.
13. Exchange Student and RYLA (Rotary Youth Leadership Award) : Julia motioned that the monthly exchange student allowance be raised from $150 to $200. Doug seconded the motion. The motion was approved

Thurs, Oct 24th - World Polio Day Rob White mentioned that the JumboTron that is on the west wall of the RH Johnston Arena wall can be used to advertise community events like our recent fish Fry, the RCMP Musical Ride or times of events such as the chariot races or bull riding and so on that were part of the Rodeo Weekend.
Word of the Day : Hurkle durkle – This expression has a Scottish origin and means to stay in bed without getting up for a lengthy time after waking up. Example – Everyone knew that even though Sally always woke up at 6:00 AM she loved to hurkle durkel and so no one should expect to see her until well after 8 AM.
